Source: www.sportsnet.ca/football/nfl/2008/09/07/brady_season_over/After less than a quarter of football, Tom Brady's season may be over. Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Patriots' quarterback suffered a severe left knee injury in the first quarter of the Pats’ 17-10 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at Gillette Stadium Sunday. The injury could include a torn anterior cruciate ligament and perhaps other ligament and cartilage damage. “It’s bad,” a team source told the web site. “We’re going to have to play without him.” ----------- Wow.

If I remember right, once Online updates the rosters, I still think players on IR are still available to be substituted in to play. Once that update comes along, Cassell or Simms or Rattay will be the automatic starter.

Watch Cassel be a hidden gem. Go figure, since it is the Patriots.
But I think the complexion of the NFL is changing this season. Two rookies won their first start against good teams. Brett Favre looks like he hasn't missed a beat... despite wearing different greens. Tom Brady is done for the year. The Indianapolis Colts lost, ugly.
I know it is only Week 1, but wow. I'm just happy that Jacksonville and Indianapolis both lost, because that makes my Texans losing that much more bearable.

This still can't make the Patriots lose! However...they aren't killing everyone like last year.

Haha, yeah, but that's because the Jets aren't great. I still think the Pats will get about 10 wins or so but they'll lose soon enough.
Jets barely beat Miami (who got their butts beat by Arizona this week) so that doesn't say much about them.

Matt Cassel is very similar to Tom Brady, physically that is. We'll just have to wait and see if he has as good of decision making as Touchdown Tom.
