BY WEB STAFF sportsnet.caThe Toronto Blue Jays have reached a deal to trade ace Roy Halladay to the Philadelphia Phillies, accoding to SI.com. Sources say the 32-year-old Cy Young winner, who is believed to have checked into a hotel room in Philadelphia, will agree to a contract extension as part of the three-team trade, in which the Seattle Mariners will get pitcher Cliff Lee. No word yet on what the Jays will receive in the deal. Sources have told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Halladay and his agent have checked into a Philadelphia-area hotel. Foxsports.com is reporting that as of shortly after 3 p.m. Monday the commissioner's office had not yet granted the Phillies permission to discuss an extension with Halladay. If the Phillies do trade for Halladay, Jays fans may see their former ace sooner rather than later. The Blue Jays are scheduled to host the Phillies at Rogers Centre in Toronto on June 25-27. Source: www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/2009/12/14/phillies_halladay_rumour/---------- Good for Doc! He has put up with a lot of crap in Toronto. At least Toronto sent him to a National League team that they don't play that much. There is also some weird rumour going around saying that Toronto will be paying some of Halladay's salary to play in Philadelphia. WEIRD.

As a Mets fan, I'm disgusted they couldn't put up more money than the Phillies. Stupid Bernie Madoff.
