Its been 7 or 8 years since I last bought a CD. I was never crazy about ipods because of the 99 cents cost. I stayed away from pirating music because of my job. So I rent my music from Rhapsody, they are a divion of the people that make Real Player. It doesn't have everything but it has almost everything I am looking for. $15 a month, it can be installed on up to 3 computers, sync'd to up to 3 compatible mp3 devices, streamed from pc, iphone, sonos and other devices. Not that I am selling it but I am wondering if nobody I know rents music like me. In the 4 or 5 years I have had it, I have downloaded 15-17,000 songs between me, the wife and the kids. www.rhapsody.com

Do the licences on the songs expire so you can't listen to them anymore?
I buy more vinyl than anything else these days, haha.

If I dorp the subscription yes, but I am not sure of my start date with it but for 5 years, I have spent $900 and 15-17,000 songs downloaded. It works for me and I doubt I will get to a point where there are no more good new songs.
My parents are like that, dad listens to 50s music but that is better then polka.

I don't do anything with music, really. I get a CD once in a blue moon. I think the last musical group I got was Outcast: Speakerboxxx/TheLoveBelow. I had a Dave Attell comedy thing in there, too. Not sure what else is semi-recent (and I mean within the last 3 years). Handsome Boy Modeling School? LADIES AND GENTLEMEN...www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi7AXFkO2vUCripes, this was my entrance music (in one way or another, or part of it *sigh*) for the length of my wrestling career. Good stuff.

My understanding is that the songs don't work with iPods but they work with other MP3 players, right?

They work with ipods if you buy the music, which a number of people do with iTunes. There is an app to stream it on an iPhone & Ipod touch, there are rumors they will make it where files can be downloaded but I haven't seen that yet. I have 3 Sandisk Sansas, a 2GB and 2 8GB. The 2GB was torn up by the oldest daughter so it has issues syncing. www.sandisk.com/consumer-products/music-playerwww.rhapsody.com/electronics/mp3players I like the service, I use to listen to it almost everyday when I worked in an office. Now that I work from home, I will listen to it when I take the sansa out to work out or whatever. Eventually I want to buy a Sonos system so its easier to stream Rapsody & Sirius in the house. Unfortunatly I don't have the money for such purchases.
